Plastering Testimonial: Marple

This plastering job in Marple, Stockport, was to repair some perished lath and plaster on an attic ceiling. This entailed removing as much loose plaster as possible, which has to be done carefully to keep more damage and dust to a minimum. Sometimes removal of laths is possible and it can be replaced with plasterboard then skimmed, but in this case removing them would have caused more damage to the ceiling and it wasn't deep enough to take plasterboard anyway. So I had to patch the area with traditional 2 coat plaster, leaving a good quality match to the existing ceiling. Decent little jobs like this help prevent my traditional skills getting rusty. In this case the worse part was the clean up, as attic ceilings are very sooty.

John is very knowledgeable and gives good advice!

John is a skilled plasterer, who does a very professional job. He did a brilliant repair on the crumbling plaster of the attic ceiling of my Victorian house. He is very knowledgeable and gives good advice. He is a tidy worker and left everywhere very clean. John is very reliable, charges a fair price and was happy to do a small job. I would certainly recommend him.
